Hampton Inn & Suites Madison Downtown

So I usually stay outside downtown Madison because I don’t need to be near the “hustle and bustle” of State Street. But my go-to hotel was sold out so I hit the Hampton Inn. And now I have two go-to hotels for Madison. This hotel is beautiful. My room was a King “suite” (just one room) and it was huge and comfortable. I had a massive desk to work at and a couch and comfy chair, as well as a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was very good and they kept it replenished all the way to close. The lobby is massive with lots of comfortable places to chill. I assume this means it’s insane on game days, graduation weekend, etc. I ate at the attached restaurant one night and it was delicious. The pool and gym looked nice (I didn’t try). It was definitely more expensive than staying a bit farther away but did not have the b.s. daily fees other hotels charge. Parking did cost but it comes with in/out privileges and is a nice, secured, enclosed structure attached to the hotel. Staff was wonderfully helpful. One tip is that the laundry seemed pricey: 2 bucks to wash, 2 bucks to dry and I needed to dry my load of only a few items twice. But that’s nitpicky and not the fault of the staff. All in all it’s a great hotel.

Great choice in Madison for touring UW. Friendly staff with clean and inviting lobby and rooms. Location allows for easy touring of campus and capital area. Breakfast was standard and refreshed often. Would be my preferred hotel when returning to Madison!

We stayed at this Hampton Inn earlier this month. It’s very centrally located for the university. My son lives around the corner. Breakfast was good, basic Hampton Inn fare, and the room was clean and spacious. Close to university, State Street and the Capital

This hotel is fantastic. The staff really care about everything, and it shows in the detail that housekeeping uses, the touches such as the hot cocoa bar, among how they seem to really enjoy their job. The lobby area is super nice with lots of common space. The pool and hot tub is amazing, and the Brunch club restaurant is great. The rooms are very spacious and nice, we had a studio suite. The location is great with lots of restaurants and State St very close. This is our go to anytime our travels bring us to Madison, which is a super cool city. Thank you for being the best Hampton Inn ever!

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in connection with a business trip. There is a lot to love about this hotel. The room was spacious, with plenty of storage space and a sizable desk for working. The bed was comfortable. Bed and bath linens were great. The HVAC worked well and was quiet. The free wifi connected easily and was fast and reliable. The large-screen TV in the room was easy to use. This hotel is a few walkable blocks from the State Capitol in one direction and the University of Wisconsin campus in the other. There is a transit line with a stop nearby. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. The hotel had a nice workout room with plenty of aerobic machines and weights. There is also an adjoining swimming pool that looked inviting, although I did not use it. The hotel offers a free breakfast, but the quality left much to be desired. There is an adjoining breakfast/brunch restaurant that offers a much higher quality of food, for a price. The only blemish on my stay was that the building’s alarm system was activated at 3:00 a.m. on the second night of my stay. It was on for about two minutes and then shut off. Hotel staff told me that a disgruntled visitor pulled the fire alarm. I’m sure such alarms are rare, so if I come back to Madison, the Hampton Inn will be the first place I check for availability.
