Unfortunately, I wasnât very happy with my experience at the Clarion Collection Hotel in Arlington. My biggest frustration was with the check-out process. I had been told by staff that I could check out at 1:00 PM, which I appreciated (even though I still think it was a little too early still). However, when I returned from my morning run, I was locked out of my room right at 11:00 AM (the original check-out time). When I went to the front desk to have my key reactivated, I was told that the late check-out time is to 12:00 PM â not the 1:00 PM I was promised. I felt rushed, and as a result, I ended up at the airport much earlier than needed, unable to even check my bag in. The staff made no effort to work with me to resolve the miscommunication, which is especially disappointing for a business in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, while I understand the hotel is older (which isnât necessarily a dealbreaker), it really feels like it could use some updates and maintenance. The carpeting and paint were worn, the bathroom faucet had noticeable buildup and sprayed water in all directions, and the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were leaking into the tub â not a great look. There were no extra blankets in the closet (which most hotels typically offer), and the outlets in the bathroom were loose. I was also pretty grossed out to find water still sitting in the coffee maker from the previous guest â something that absolutely should have been caught by housekeeping. Even though the building is older, it just needs more care and attention to feel clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing. The eggs were cold, the fruit was old and limited in variety, and the breakfast area was far too small for the number of guests. I had to take my food back to my room just to have a place to sit. It would also be helpful if the hotel made it clearer that breakfast is served on the 8th floor â that was not obvious. The location is great â thatâs one definite plus â but if you're able to spend a little more, Iâd recommend looking at one of the neighboring hotels. This one just didnât deliver the quality or consistency I expected. Unfortunately, I wonât be considering this hotel â or this brand â again.

Mixed review for this property. Breakfast was reasonable for price paid, room was large and bathroom was very clean. Location is very good and close to subway and restaurants. On the downside, property is very dated and tired and overdue for updating/renovation. The front desk staff were on the whole disinterested and a couple were quite rude.

It's been day 3 and I've been experiencing the worst stay ever. For one I called front desk twice to let them know about the room next door with loud and chaos and then unnecessary commotion and the front desk asked if I wanted to move to another room, but I've been staying here for 3 nights, and the audacity for them to ask me to move to another room when I paid my stay for until next month. It's 8 pm almost 9pm and I've been complaining about the rude loud noise since 5pm. At this point I have an headache and it's not quiet it's too noisy and the staff here are rude and they don't accommodate you well me anyways I feel like it might be a racist thing because I'm black.

The hotel is totally outdated, everywhere you look. The outside needs paint maintenance, it just looks old. The fifth floor hallway smells like mold and the carpet just looks old. The room is spacious bit nothing else positive about it. The chairs with the stained fabric (room 510) doesnât feel clean. The furniture is so old that there isnât a plug bedside, havenât seen a hotel not having this in a long time. Came to town for the Marine Corps Marathon without family and this hotel is very close to the start/finish line, so not bad for that purpose. I would not stay at this hotel again, there are other options around the area and for vacation, would choose another area.

Our stay was enjoyable. We have stayed here many times over the past years. The breakfasts have a good selection of hot and cold items. The hotel is a short walk to the Courthouse metro stop and access to DC. The area has lots of restaurants. It has consistently been one of the most affordable options in the area. It is reasonably clean and we don't mind the dated décor.
