Four and five night stay with family for Frick Gala. This hotel is marvelous, top to bottom. It is old school New York at its finest. The rooms are spotless, quiet, so comfortable. They are large with high ceilings, great views if you opt for that. The true draw is the incredible staff, whose every interaction was kind, helpful and cheerful. Enjoyed the coffee makers in the rooms, breakfast at Perrine, where all the waiters are like old friends now.

Well the only reason for me to withhold the "excellent rating " is the interior which is grand but needs refurbishment, most of the old Iconic hotels like the RITZ in London or Paris are old hotels but they shine like new pennies ! the Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken shines like it is new ! they have all sorts of reasons like "this is a residence cum hotel" but all said and done the hotel needs soft renovation . Meanwhile the staff including mr Dancer and other concierges are great. A special thanks to Saransh who tries to comfort all his guests . A quality all F.O.M's must have ! keep it up boy

The first thing I would like to note is that the staff at The Pierre is wonderful. Every interaction was lovely. From the doorman who rushed around 75 feet down the block to take my elderly mother's roller bag to when we left and they placed those same bags in the car for us - the attention paid to us was excellent. This includes the bellmen, elevator attendants, wait staff, front desk, & concierge. I never personally saw or spoke with anyone in housekeeping but their attention to detail and care for our room was also evident to us. My mother and I were visiting NYC to see a Broadway show and we booked a twin bedded room. Check in went fairly smoothly, only had to wait for one person to complete their check out. They had my information readily available and printed out already, just had to confirm my ID & credit card, then assign us keys. A bellman escorted us to the attended elevator and then directed us to our room. He gave us a mini tour about where to find everything, explained how to connect to WiFi and welcomed us to the hotel. The room was larger than I anticipated it would be and we had a view onto 61st Street. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were of the quality one would expect of an establishment like the Pierre. It appeared that the room had either been recently redecorated or they maintain it very well because the fabrics, color scheme, carpet, mirrors, etc all were beautiful, contemporary and in good condition. Bathroom: The bathroom was amazing with elegant marble, large soaking bathtub and a massive walk-in shower that's as large as the entire bathroom in my old NYC studio. There were lots of shelves and areas for us to arrange our personal items and makeup, a magnifying mirror, luxury toiletries, comfy robes, all the things one would expect. Storage: The closet was large and included a safe, an umbrella, shoe horn, lint brush as nice touches. The one thing that may be lacking for those staying longer is there wasn't much drawer storage either in the closet or in the room should one wish to unpack. Entertainment: My reservation said there was some sort of news e- reader included in the room but I was never able to locate it. The TV was easy to operate & simple to connect to WIFI. We went out to dinner & the play, upon our return, we had some drinks in the Two E Bar & Lounge where there was a pianist & vocalist performing American standards. It wasn't very crowded, the music was lovely and the cappuccino was delicious. The following morning, I went for an early walk across the street in Central Park before we met up at Perrine, the hotel restaurant, for breakfast. The coffee and food were all fabulous, service was attentive and fast. (Our room included $50 breakfast credit per person.) Check out was efficient and simple - we checked our bags while we went shopping and to lunch & then returned to the hotel to get our luggage. it was all very simple and pleasant. My first visit to the Pierre & I'm certain it won't be my last.

The Pierre seemed older, less clean and with less attentive and careful service than it used to be, especially from the housekeeping, concierge, front desk and doormen. With the exception of the extremely polite elevator operators and Denzel, concierge.

I always wanted to try The Pierre when in NYC. I stayed there my last two trips. It's a beautiful property with an incredible staff on every level. They go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, completely unlike other luxury hotels in the area who treat guests like they are lucky to be there and if you ask a question you are inconveniencing them. I've stayed at most of the great hotels around Central Park South. I'm really impressed with The Pierre.
