I noticed a lot of not so great reviews, and I guess it is all about expectations. The Alpenhof fits the Jackson vibe so well. I spend a lot of time in mountain towns that have more modern and updated everything that look like everywhere else. Nice but Jackson is a throwback mountain that is all about the mountain itself. The rooms are clean and reasonable. Cowboy Coffee is a great place for breakfast right there, and apres at the Alpenhof is always fun. The staff are great. I'm a fan.

Stay away from this place. It is severely overpriced for the quality. There was mold in the bathroom shower, 2 holes in the bathroom door and the furniture and carpet are rustic at best but more like 20 yrs passed their useful life. After 4 complaints at the front desk we received a call back from supervisor Leyla(sp?). Explaining the issue to her again she said maintenance fixed the mold in the morning. they had sprayed Clorox on top of the mold, but no we had mold and chlorine smell in the bathroom. We asked her to get another room but she said there was nothing she could do and recommended we would call another person. We told her that she should fix it or we would have to write this review. She said she didn't care.... Horrible experience.

Pool and hot tub out of service and no room turnover done the entire length of stay. Proximity to ski hill was nice but service is lacking at hotel. For the price I would have definitely paid a bit more and stayed somewhere else...............

I left the hotel four days early. They scared me/I’m calming down. I've been to Alpenhof twice, both times the week before Christmas. Last Year was amazing/different ownership. This year not so much (2024), I've literally been triple charged. It's made me super uncomfortable/worried/Left due to safety/security/staying at another hotel in Jackson Hole Wyoming. I've been trying to resolve this issue for days. I got BOOKING.COM involved, they assured me they will resolve this issue. What a way to start my holiday šŸ˜”

The lodge is very old with dirty stained carpets and no working restaurant as advertised. I tried to hang my coat in the closet and the door fell of the rollers. Paint was peeling off the wall in the bathroom and the combined tub/shower had a slick surface. If you grab the tub faucet, it rotates around. The drain is broken. A sign on the front desk announced the elevator was not working. It was printed and in a stand, not hastily written by hand as if it just happened. The lodge looks nothing like the pictures posted in their ads. It requires maintenance throughout. We were shown other rooms and they were all in the same state of decay. If you think you will be getting a lovely Bavarian lodge for your stay and meals, don't believe it. When checking out the next day, the desk clerk refused to give us a receipt for our overnight stay. She told us that AAA (our source for selecting this lodging) was working with Expedia. They said Expedia would be emailing our receipt to us. It did not happen. We could not get a person to speak to us at Expedia, only recordings. If you would like to stay at a dismal lodge with a room offering whiskey and gummy bears, this is the place.
